How to be a Medical Cannabis patient
Do I qualify as a patient?
The Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission allows anyone with the below symptoms to qualify as a patient:
Any condition that is severe, for which other medical treatments have been ineffective, and if the symptoms “reasonably can be expected to be relieved” by the medical use of Cannabis. In addition, if the patient has a chronic or debilitating disease or medical condition that causes severe loss of appetite, wasting, severe or chronic pain, severe nausea, seizures or severe or persistent muscle spasms, or glaucoma or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
How do I get my Medical Card?
Only from the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission
APRIL 10-16 9:00AM: LAST NAMES (A to L) APRIL 17-24 9:00AM LAST NAMES (M to Z) MONDAY, APRIL 24TH ONWARD: OPEN ENROLLMENT
Once you receive your patient number (obtained ONLY through the commission’s website: http://mmcc.maryland.gov), the patient’s registered physician can link to the patient by entering the patient’s commission-assigned number on the commission’s secure database, and then issue an online certification for medical cannabis.
